Finnieston has no shortage of brunch spots chasing a look, but The Morning Roll doesn’t bother with any of that. It’s a hatch, a griddle, and a queue that moves fast. The bap is a proper white bap — soft, a little sweet, structurally sound — and the bacon is griddled hard enough to shatter rather than bend.
Ketchup only, no sauce options, which is fine: it’s the right call for this roll. The americano was hot and unremarkable in the best way — nothing to fault, nothing to write home about.
Genuinely can’t find much to mark down here, which is itself notable.
